There is nothing like the safety of knowing your place…
Ask any submissive.
The body is the mind’s playground.
Clarity.
The responsibility of a Dominant in a D/s relationship is an awesome thing for it is often truly the case that he shields the weight of the world from his submissive. Not, mind you, because his submissive is weak, but because his submissive has taken off her own armor to show her vulnerability and allow everything inside her to be exposed.
If the Dominant fails in his responsibility then the weight of the world can come crashing down on the most exposed and vulnerable parts of his submissive and that can be calamitous in the extreme.
The weight is heavy, but you must do everything you can to bear it, for trying to dig someone out from under such a collapse is 1000 times harder than keeping them safe from it to begin with.
A good Dominant should be able to hug with the same intensity that he can wield a belt.
The rabbit hole that is BDSM is deeper, much deeper, than most imagine.
If you go in thinking that you might not find the bottom then you won’t be so alarmed when you continue to tumble down.
But you’ll love the pretty bruises…
In the beginning of a D/s relationship a new submissive can experience a pervasive sense of disbelief that they have so luckily managed to find exactly that which they have so long felt there would be no hope of finding.
Thus, they must be careful of their actions and not spoil it through disbelief. The Dominant can help insure this by being clear with rules and instructions.
It is difficult for many new submissives to resolve the dichotomy of wanting to be so fiercely loved and cared for at the same time they want to be used in a way that would seem to completely contradict that care.
The important thing to remember is to establish the caring as a baseline then let it evolve from that place.
